The phrase “everything happens for a reason” is not written word for word in the Bible. However, the truth behind it is woven throughout Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. What the Bible clearly teaches is this: God is sovereign, His plans are eternal, and nothing in the life of a believer happens outside of His care and purpose.
Romans 8:28 gives us something richer and sturdier than a simple saying. The emphasis is not on uncovering a reason for every event, but on trusting the God who is actively working in every event.

Whether it is Joseph being sold by his brothers, Job losing everything, or the disciples watching Jesus die, God was weaving something redemptive through every painful chapter.
