“Why Are You Cast Down, O My Soul?”
The psalmist asked this exact question. He was not a stranger to emotional pain. He wept, he wrestled, and he cried out to God from a place of genuine despair. Depression is not a new struggle. It is not a sign of weak faith. It is a human experience that God meets with compassion, not judgment.

Hope Recalled from Inside the Rubble
Even when hope feels buried, it is still there. Lamentations was written in the middle of total devastation, yet the writer lifted his eyes and found a reason to keep going. That is the miracle of biblical hope. It does not wait for your circumstances to improve. It rises from the rubble itself.

Nothing Can Separate You
This is the truth that depression tries hardest to steal. It whispers that you are alone, forgotten, too far gone. Romans 8 answers that lie directly. No darkness, no diagnosis, no depth of despair can cut you off from the love God has for you in Christ.

What to Do With This
Read these verses slowly. Not as a checklist, but as a conversation with God. Pick one verse that hits your heart today and sit with it. Write it down. Pray it back to Him. Let it remind you that what you are feeling is not the final word.
Depression can make everything feel permanent. But God’s presence is the permanent thing, not the pain. The same God who held David through his darkest psalms, who met Elijah under the juniper tree, who wept at the tomb of Lazarus, He is with you right now.
You are not too broken. You are not too far gone. You are exactly the kind of person Jesus came for.
